Five reasons to write!

“I can shake off everything as I write. My sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.” ~ Anne Frank

There are many good reasons to write. Here are some to consider.

  1. You can write anywhere.
Think about it. You can write at your leisure, quietly in the comfort of your home, outside in nature or anywhere you’re comfortable.
  2. Writing lets you express yourself.
Sometimes you just need to get your thoughts out. You may not be comfortable sharing your feelings, so writing them down is a great option and can be very therapeutic. And, you’re the only one who needs to read them. Getting thoughts out of your head is known to help reduce stress.
  3. Reflect on the positives in your life.
I like to journal and keep track of special days and events in my life. In the process, I create a reminder of all the wonderful positives. On days when I’m feeling a little under the weather, I come back to them and it lifts me up.
  4. Is there a book in you?
Have you ever been told you should write a book? If you have a story to tell or special expertise, you might want to write a book to share your experience. A book can inspire, lift or motivate others who can relate to the information you share.

5. It’s a great way to record memories.
You’ve had a great vacation. You visited little towns and shops and learned so much about the area that you can’t wait to share the experience with your friends. Making notes will help you remember and relive all those special moments.

If you enjoy writing, then you know how good it feels to get your thoughts out of your head and onto the paper or laptop or journal! If you haven’t tried it, then you might just be surprised by how healing and refreshing it can be. Give it a go!
