You can’t surf a website or social media today without running into a promotion for an AI (Artificial Intelligence) course, a featured article, or an AI generated image or video. All this makes me feel a little behind in this fast moving world, so I took the opportunity to ask my AI-powered assistant to tell me what simple and easy things AI could do for me. Here’s the AI generated response with a few comments from me!

AI can make life easier in all sorts of ways! Here are some simple, everyday uses for AI that can save you time and effort:
- Writing assistance – AI can help generate emails, edit documents, or even write stories. I particularly like to us AI to spice up marketing content and social posts!
- Smart scheduling – AI-powered calendars suggest optimal meeting times and remind you of appointments. I’ve received reminders of upcoming appointments which I really need and appreciate.
- Image creation – AI can generate unique images or refine designs based on your ideas. I’ve given this a try, but I must admit, it takes a bit of work to get to a final image that fits the bill.
- Language translation – AI can instantly translate languages, making communication easier. Language translators have been around for a long time. Are these AI generated?
- Recipe suggestions – Input ingredients you have, and AI can suggest meals. I haven’t given this a try because my fridge is generally short on ingredients, but a colleague once told me he used this feature with some success.
- Shopping help – AI can compare products and find the best deals online.
- Voice assistants – AI-powered tools like Microsoft’s Copilot can answer questions, set reminders, and help manage tasks.
- Photo editing – AI can enhance images, remove backgrounds, or improve quality effortlessly. I’ve found this feature very helpful in advertising and social media creation.
- Data analysis – AI helps sort through information, find patterns, and make predictions.
Understanding AI has become increasing important to career advancement and deepening your understanding of technology, including what is or isn’t AI!
