Although we tend to get wrapped up in the idea, Christmas is not just about the presents or the decorations, but about the spirit of the season. It’s a time I look forward to spending with family, especially the little ones who have been counting down the days before Santa arrives.
Each year, we create new memories that get captured in our hearts. Ones that bring smiles to our faces and ones we’ll share for a lifetime.
Christmas is also a time when we open our hearts to the community, giving and sharing where we can. We give to organizations that collect money tirelessly outside of department stores. We contribute to toy drives and food drives so that the less fortunate can have a little bit of hope and share a little Christmas magic.
As the years pass, so do the traditions we have in place. Because my family live in different cities each year we alternate where we get together to celebrate. As the little ones get older, we adjust to accommodate other holiday activities… concerts, tournaments or competitions. No matter the timing or the place, we always get together.
If there’s one thing I know, no matter where we are, there’s a deep sense of belonging and love. I’m fortunate.
My wish for you…
No matter where you are this Christmas, I wish each and everyone of you, the warmest of holiday blessings. May your next year be filled with joy and love and hope.
